[Composition]

Oxytocin, made by chemical synthesis.

Structural formula: H-Cys-Tyr-Ile-Glu(NH2)-Asp(NH2)-Cys-Pro-Leu-Gly-NH2

Auxiliary material: water for injection

[Characteristics] This product is colorless or nearly colorless transparent liquid.

[Indications] This product is for treatment of uterine hemorrhage caused by uterine atony or lack of uterine contraction during induction of labor, hastening parturition, and after childbirth or abortion. For getting known of reserve function of placenta (oxytocin challenge test).

[Specifications]

1. 0.5ml : 2.5 units (2) 1ml: 5units (3) 1ml: 10units

   [Usage]

1. For induction of labor or hastening parturition: intravenous drip, 2.5-5 units at a time, diluting with sodium chloride injection to per 1ml containing 0.01unit. At the beginning of intravenous drip, it shouldn’t drip faster than 0.001-0.002units per minute, increasing 0.001-0.002units per 15-30 minutes, until uterine contraction reach similar level of normal labor term. The fastest dripping speed shouldn’t exceed 0.02units per minute, and 0.002-0.005units per minute is normal speed.

2. For controlling postpartum hemorrhage: intravenous drip speed is 0.02-0.04units per minute, after delivery of the placenta, 5-10units could be injected intramuscularly.
